![]() ![]() I think it is a soundtrack that grows more and more so it requires atleast a couple of listenings before it can be fully appreciated, atleast it was that way for me. The other songs, Catacombs and Caves, are a bit ambient but with a few melodic parts here and there, one of them contains an electric guitar. The whole atmosphere of those songs are great with medieval/gothic type of melodies and some with plain evil music. The town and the first dungeon songs are really good in my opinion and I also really enjoy the intro song and the tune when being in the hell levels. I actually had the original cd with this game (with soundtrack playable in a cd-player) years ago but fortunately I found the mp3 rip on the net. ![]() The composer is a bit unknown to me too but a very talanted one. I have listened to it countless times and I'm not bored of it yet. This soundtrack is a really, really good soundtrack with romantic, pirate-inspired and with some Christmas influences. I'm not as fond of this music as the other reviewers here, some parts are good but overall I find it very average. Got an mp3 rip of it recently that I've been listening to and realised how good it is so I had to make an update on the score. It also gives back some nostalgic memories which increases the rating. "Shaddam Corrino IV" (by Warcow, ) Įventhough I'm a bigger fan of the music of the second game in this serie, it's great to hear the original music to the first Dune game, it's well done and very atmospheric. It's not that bad of a soundtrack though since they're based on really good original songs but it's not really my cup of tea. This soundtrack is remakes of the old Dune tunes but much more ambient, like sadly enough most of new computermusic made today. "Dune new Millennia version" (by Warcow, ) Fans to old Jazz Jackrabbit music will most likely like the track to the Nova table (track named "eyond music" here). It's very varied in quality though, some tracks are interesting and some aren't in my opinion but overall it's pretty descent. The old pinballgames used to provide some good music and so does this. It has no ambient tracks, just plain songs with an own typical sound, which is great! I dig it and especially fans of old pcgame music will probably also do that. "The old classic RTS game" (by Warcow, ) Ī cool old classic real time strategy game which is a milestone of its genre and the music is good and fits the game really well. When listening to the soundtrack today I feel the same vibe and it still works.Īnd I agree with honkstar82 that the songs here is better than most music to any new game today, it sure was another quality then. When I first played this game at a friends home back in '95, it was unlike any other gameplay I had tried before and I thought the music was cool and fitted really good with it. They're both a bit slow in the beginning of the songs, I prefer the Denaris remix track here. Two songs here that are pretty descent for an old Amiga game. The music is also great with much variety and ideas, not too many hitsongs though to get a top rating. ![]() Nothing over the top by no means but pretty neat.Įdit: I just realised it is almost 18 years ago I wrote my first review here on Mirsoft (Grizzly was on the top of the reviews chart then with 23 reviews, if I remember it correctly) so a hooray for Mirsoft, myself and all other contributors on this site!įirst played this one when it was only the demo version out there and it was way cool back in the day. A couple of pretty interesting passages and harmonies here. I have never heard of this game before but I liked the title of it so I downloaded the soundtrack. Okay then, take care now, bye bye then! Warcow's reviews: Oh, and why do I almost only give high overall points? It's because I mostly make reviews for soundtracks that I think are good and deserve some attention. I'm a big music fan and I listen to all kinds of music but my favourite genres are heavy metal and, of course, game music. ![]()
